Doe mee met de Klimaatmars / Join the Climate March
28.03.2025 : Net als voorgaande jaren is er dit jaar weer een klimaatmars op donderdag 17 april. Doen jullie weer mee?! Dit jaar een Mars voor de Aarde in aanloop naar de Dag van de Aarde.English follows the Dutch text
Een dag waarop we onze Moeder Aarde eren, het leven dat ze ons schenkt, de rijkdommen die zij ons geeft en de schoonheid die ze ons biedt.
Onze Aarde heeft het moeilijk, door het handelen van de mensheid, en dat treft ook ons meer en meer. Gelukkig zijn er talloze mensen en organisaties, waaronder jullie, die in actie komen. Voor een duurzame toekomst, voor de aarde, voor ons en voor onze mede-aardbewoners. Mensen die vergroenen, die grachten en straten schoonmaken. Die repareren en hergebruiken. Die de schoonheid van de Aarde laten zien. Die helpen met energie besparen en met de energietransitie. Maar ook mensen bij de gemeente, scholen, bedrijven en zorginstellingen die zich inzetten om Leiden sneller duurzaam te maken. Deze mensen, te veel om allemaal te noemen, geven ons hoop. Jullie geven ons hoop!
Tijdens onze Mars voor de Aarde willen we deze klimaathelden en initiatieven in het zonnetje zetten en bedanken voor wat zij, jullie, voor onze aarde doen. We lopen vanaf het Stadhuis naar The Field, waarbij we onderweg op een aantal plekken pauzeren. Op deze plekken geven we het woord aan Leidse vooroplopers en applaudisseren we voor de bekende en onbekende Leidse duurzame doeners. Bij The Field is er een kort, gezellig samenzijn.

Join the Climate March
Just like in previous years, we will be holding a climate march on Thursday 17 April. Will you join us? This year, a March for the Earth in the run-up to Earth Day. A day on which we honour our Mother Earth, the life she gives us, the riches she gives us and the beauty she offers us.
Our Earth is having a hard time, due to the actions of humanity, and that is affecting us more and more. Fortunately, there are countless people and organisations, including you, who are taking action. For a sustainable future, for the Earth, for us and for our fellow Earthlings. People who are greening, cleaning canals and streets. Who are repairing and reusing. Who are showing the beauty of the Earth. Who are helping to save energy and with the energy transition. But also people at the municipality, schools, companies and healthcare institutions who are committed to making Leiden sustainable faster. These people, too many to mention, give us hope. You give us hope!
During our March for Earth, we want to put these climate heroes and initiatives in the spotlight and thank them for what they, you, do for our planet. We will walk from the City Hall to The Field, pausing at a number of places along the way. At these places, we will give the floor to Leiden pioneers and applaud the well-known and unknown sustainable doers from Leiden. There will be a short, cozy get-together at The Field.
