15.02.2025 : Bewoners van de 'Krophollerdriehoek' zijn samen met het kerkbestuur al enige tijd aan het uitpuzzelen hoe men het complex met behoud van cultuurhistorische details kan verduurzamen én in de toekomst duurzaam en betaalbaar kan verwarmen.

De St. Petruskerk is een markant herkenningspunt in onze wijk. Samen met de bebouwing eromheen is hij ontworpen door Alexander J. Kropholler. Het hele driehoekige complex dat bestaat uit kerkgebouw, pastorie en woonhuizen aan de Lammenschansweg, Lorentzkade en Zeemanlaan, is Rijksmonument én beschermd stadsgezicht. Bouwjaar is 1936, in een tijd dat kolenkachels en stadsgas werden toegepast. Kerk, pastorie en woningen verduurzamen is een reusachtige klus, die bovendien vanwege de monumentale status heel voorzichtig moet worden uitgevoerd.

Krophollerdriehoek initiatives
Residents of the 'Krophollerdriehoek' have been working together with the church board for some time now on how to make the complex more sustainable while preserving cultural-historical details and how to heat it sustainably and affordably in the future.

The St. Petruskerk is a striking landmark in our neighbourhood. Together with the surrounding buildings, it was designed by Alexander J. Kropholler. The entire triangular complex, consisting of the church building, rectory and houses on Lammenschansweg, Lorentzkade and Zeemanlaan, is a national monument and a protected cityscape. It was built in 1936, at a time when coal stoves and city gas were used. Making the church, rectory and houses more sustainable is a huge job, which must also be carried out very carefully due to the monumental status.
