Oppenheimstraat: Geen sportzaal, wel twee gymzalen / Two gyms but no sports hall

15.06.2024 : Het oude gebouw naast de Josephschool in de Oppenheimstraat wordt in de eerste helft van volgend jaar verbouwd. Er komen twee gymzalen in, maar de plannen om ook een sportzaal toe te voegen die zijn tijdens het voorbereidingsproces helaas gesneuveld.
Het bestaande gebouw blijft voor een groot deel behouden, met aan de voorzijde een uitbouw. “Het casco blijft staan en we gaan twee vloerdelen toevoegen, zodat er twee gymzalen boven elkaar kunnen komen. Ook gaan we het gebouw circulair inrichten”, aldus onderwijswethouder Abdelhaq Jermoumi.

No general sports hall, but two gyms in Oppenheimstraat
The old building next to the Joseph School in Oppenheimstraat will be renovated in the first half of next year. There will be two gymnasiums, but the plans to create a complexer multi-sports hall were unfortunately cancelled during the preparation process.
The existing building will be largely retained, with an extension at the front. “The shell will remain standing and two floor sections will be added so that two gymnasiums can be placed on top of each other. We are also going to design the building in a circular manner,” says education councilor Abdelhaq Jermoumi.
