Uw verhuurder is verantwoordelijk voor grote verbeteringen aan uw woning, maar kleine aanpassingen kunt u ook zelf doen.
Aan je verhuurder vragen om je woning te verbeteren - hoe doe je dat?
Als de verhuurder toch duurzaam aanpassingen wil doen, wat dan? En wie betaalt dat? En als hij dat niet wil: hoe verder?
Hoe energiezuinig is uw woning nu - welk energielabel heeft uw woning?
Wat kunt u zelf aan uw huis doen om energie te besparen?
Op al deze punten vindt u antwoorden op deze website, maar ook elders op deze website vindt u veel informatie. Komt u er niet uit en heeft u hulp nodig, kan je een energiecoach inschakelen. Energiecoaches zijn enthousiaste mensen met veel praktijkervaring. Zij hebben een opleiding tot energiecoach gevolgd en delen zij gratis hun kennis en ervaring met andere Leidenaren.
Als uw verhuurder niets wil doen, kan Huurteam Leiden u wellicht helpen. Meld het eerst via het meldpunt. Na een bezoek hoor je dan wat er mogelijk is. Als je dat wil, neemt Huurteam Leiden contact op met je verhuurder. Ook controleren ze of een eventuele huurverhoging eerlijk is. Hun hulp is gratis, betaald door de gemeente. Ze kan ze trouwens ook inschakelen voor andere geschillen met de verhuurder zoals, huurprijs, gebreken of het huurcontract.
Voor simpel practische hulp zou u misschien Energiefixers kunnen inschakelen. Zij brengen gratis energiebesparende maatregelen ter waarde van maximaal € 200,- bij uw thuis direct aan. Bijvoorbeeld radiatorfolie, radiatorventilatoren, led-lampen en een waterbesparende douchekop.

How energy efficient is your home now - what energy label does your home have and what can you do to your home to save energy?
You will find answers to all these points (only in Dutch) on this website, but you will also find a lot of information elsewhere on this website. If you can't figure it out and need help, you can call in an energy coach (website in Dutch but you can select a language for the energycoach). Energy coaches are enthusiastic people with a lot of practical experience. They have completed training as energy coaches and share their knowledge and experience with other Leiden residents for free.
If your landlord does not want to do anything, Huurteam Leiden (in English :-) may be able to help you. Contact them to arrange an appointment for a visit. After a visit you will hear what is possible. If you wish, Huurteam Leiden will contact your landlord. They also check whether any rent increase is fair. Their help is free, paid for by Leiden gemeente. They can also help you with other issues or problems with the landlord, such as rent, defects or the rental contract.
For simple practical help you might want to call in Energiefixers (website in Dutch only). They apply free energy-saving measures worth a maximum of € 200 directly to your home. For example, radiator foil, radiator fans, LED lamps and a water-saving shower head.
