Burenhulp in een eigentijds jasje / Neighbourhood assistance in a contemporary guise

05.02.2025: De mailbox van het Ouderencontact ontplofte min of meer een paar weken geleden. Wat was er gebeurd? In de Volkskrant stond een artikel over Voorzorgcirkels. En daar moest het Ouderencontact wat mee doen, vonden de mailers.

Voor wie het artikel niet heeft gelezen: een Voorzorgcirkel is een groepje mensen in een straat of buurt die elkaar op verschillende manieren ondersteunen. Ze spreken met elkaar af dat ze voor elkaar klaarstaan en elkaar helpen. Vrijwillig, maar met een serieuze inzet. Het kan een groepje ouderen zijn, maar ook een bredere opzet krijgen met bewoners van diverse leeftijden – een Straatcirkel? Of Burencirkel? Geef het een naam.

Niet geheel toevallig was het werkgroepje Zorg dat na het 10-jarig jubileum van het Ouderencontact is gevormd hiermee al aan de slag. We maken graag van het gebleken enthousiasme gebruik om vanuit het Ouderencontact dit idee concreet vorm te gaan geven.

Uit ervaringen elders blijkt dat het belangrijkste voor het opzetten van een Voorzorgcirkel is dat je elkaar kent in de straat of buurt. Uitgangspunt is aandacht en zo nodig zorg voor elkaar – gewoon burenhulp. Weten dat je er voor elkaar bent als het nodig is. En dat je ook een beroep op elkaar durft te doen. Als je elkaar kent wordt de moeilijkste vraag die je kunt stellen (”Help”) misschien wat gemakkelijker. Als je denkt: ik wil hierover wel meedenken of eraan meedoen, spreek dan op donderdagochtend in Trigon Ruth, Gera, Femma of Mareen aan. Of meld je aan via de mail van het Ouderencontact info@ouderencontactprofburgwijk.nl.
Graag aanmelden vóór 11 februari 2025. We willen eind februari/begin maart op een middag met elkaar over deze cirkels verder praten. Dan kunnen we nog wat meer uitleg geven over wat een Voorzorgcirkel/Straatcirkel is en voorbeelden geven van ervaringen elders. We bespreken met elkaar hoe je ze in onze wijk kunt opzetten. Deze ideeën met concrete voorstellen en stappen worden op 22 mei tijdens het Trigonprogramma verder besproken en uitgewerkt.

Neighbourhood assistance in a contemporary guise
The Ouderencontact mailbox more or less exploded a few weeks ago. What had happened? There was an article in the Volkskrant about Care Circles. And the Ouderencontact had to do something with that, the mailers thought.

For those who haven't read the article: a Care Circle is a group of people in a street or neighbourhood who support each other in various ways. They agree with each other that they are there for each other and help each other. Voluntarily, but with a serious commitment. It can be a group of elderly people, but it can also have a broader set-up with residents of various ages - a Street Circle? Or Neighbourhood Circle? Give it a name.

It is no coincidence that the Care working group that was formed after the 10th anniversary of the Ouderencontact was already working on this. We would like to use the enthusiasm that has been demonstrated to give this idea concrete form from the Ouderencontact.

Experience elsewhere shows that the most important thing for setting up a Care Circle is that you know each other in the street or neighbourhood. The starting point is attention and, if necessary, care for each other - just help from your neighbours. Knowing that you are there for each other when needed. And that you also dare to call on each other. If you know each other, the most difficult question you can ask ("Help") may become a little easier.

Please register before 11 February 2025. We want to talk about these circles with each other one afternoon at the end of February/beginning of March. Then we can explain a little more about what a Care Circle is and give examples of experiences elsewhere. We discuss together how you can set them up in our neighbourhood. These ideas with concrete proposals and steps will be discussed and elaborated on 22 May during the Trigon programme.
